Beware of the dangers of paper shredders. If you have a paper shredder, be sure that you always turn it off and you might even want to unplug it when not in use. Dogs have lost their tongues when they licked paper shredders set to "auto." Dogs have survived before without their tongues but it required re-learning how to eat and drink. Again, let me state that we should never assume that a pet will not lick or eat something that is not edible - they have and they will!!!
IMPORTANT: NEVER, NEVER ASSUME YOUR PET WILL NOT EAT SOMETHING BECAUSE IT TASTES BAD OR IS WHAT WE WOULD CONSIDER "UNEATABLE." MY LAB WILL LITERALLY EAT ANYTHING. THIS IS NO EXAGGERATION AND NO YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW EVERYTHING HE HAS CONSUMED!!!!
