Earthdog tests are for small terriors and Dachshunds. These dogs were bred to hunt for prey (quqrry) by going into the ground through burrows and tunnels.  The name terrier actually comes from the Latin word "terra" which means ground. Dogs with no training can participate in the Introduction to Quarry where no title is earned. Two rats in cages are placed in a long narrow tunnel in the ground and the dogs must find them in three minutes and show interest in catching the rats by digging, growling or barking.
